Steve passed away on March 29, 2025, while clearing some trees with a chain saw on his property  in the Rogue Valley. He will be missed by many. As remembered by his family, "A man who felt most at home in the woods, on the water and surrounded by family and friends. Whether he was casting a line at sunrise, or tracking deer through the fall leaves, he lived life on his own terms and left behind a trail of strong memories."
