Janet was a beautiful soul with a sweet spirit. She was a quiet but kind individual. I remember hearing about her passing. It wasn't many years after graduation. She was married,living in Portland and a mother of one or two children. They were young when she too was taken my cancer. My heart ached with the knowledge that her children would not know their beautiful mother. I feel blessed to be called one of her friends.
Exactly Julie. she was quiet but very funny. Her husband Tom still lives in portland and his two grown sons Andrew and Mason live with him. They have grown into excellent young men. Tom and I stay in very close contact and he is also doing great. Janet still lives in our hearts and minds daily.
Tom and Janet were definitely high school sweethearts! Seems you never saw one without the other. We had some wild and crazy times in Portland. Then we lost track of them. I was heartbroken when I ran into Tom about 5 years later and he told me Janet was gone. He looked so thin then so I hope his heart has healed over the loss.
Pat's exactly right; Andrew and Mason are excellent young men. Julie, you're also right; "kind soul" would have to be the first description of Janet most people would think of that knew her. She would be very proud of her sons! Tom Powell and I don't do a very good job of keeping in contact, but I'm proud to call him one of my best friends of all time. Hopefully, he can make the reunion!
